The Blue Fox Updated: 5.11.2013 The HK Literary festival is in full swing and as you know their big focus this year is on Scandinavian writers. Now Iceland is one Scandinavian country that is famous for its artists and musicians...and of course its amazing novelists. Our contributor, Reenita Hora got to talk with Sjon who has just flown in from Reykjavik to talk about the influence of myth and surrealism in his writing.

Sjón produced his first poetry collection Visions at the tender of 15. His novels include The Whispering Muse, From the Mouth of the Whale and The Blue Fox, which was awarded the prestigious Nordic Council’s Literary Prize.

Sjón has also taken part in a variety of art shows and music events, and in 2001 his long-time collaboration with the Icelandic singer Björk led to an Oscar nomination for his lyrics for the movie Dancer in the Dark.
