He is the author of “Frederick, The Life of My Missionary Grandfather in Manchuria”, which is also available in Chinese. Mark is also the author of Serving with Compassion about the Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, “the Chinese Labour Corps” and “From the Tsar’s Railway to the Red Army”. His next book The Second Tang dynasty will be published shortly in English and Chinese. He also works as a university lecturer and journalist.

Mark O'Neill tells Noreen Mir about the difficulties in doing research for his two books on the First World War and gives us a simple history lesson on China's role in the war.
